New figures released by the Brewers Association of Japan suggestnbeer sales in Japan are growing in 2012 after having been affectednby the tsunami and earthquake that hit the country in March 2011.nBeer sales during the first half of 2012 increased by 2% to 12.4mnnhectolitres, from 12.2mn hectolitres in the same period a year ago.nIn our view this growth represents a 'return to normality' rather thannushering in a period of sustained momentum, with the beer categorynin Japan having been in a period of decline for the past 10 years.
