Globalstar's system usage increases, but cash is low and layoffs are announced. Asia-Pacific Satellite reports. Globalstar announced its results for the quarter ended 30 June 2001, which showed steady increases in both voice and data traffic, with a broadening base of new customers among key industry targets. However, the company has also reported to have approximately US$98 million in cash, which should suffice to continue operations through to the end of 2001. Globalstar also announced that it expects to reduce its staffing later in the Third Quarter (Q3)Mo 175 full-time employees.
