Following the successful launch of the Garuda-1 satellite, Asia Cellular Satellite (ACeS) is on the verge of bringing a revolution to the mobile telephony market of the Asia-Pacific region. In the near future, the company's customers will be able to use their dual-mode (satellite/GSM or satellite/AMPS) handsets for a whole range of services including voice, fax and data, as well as roaming capability.
