Loral Space ft Communications, a leader in satellite communications, posted its financial results for the second quarter and six months ending 30 June 2000. Asia-Pacific Satellite reports. In line with analyst estimates, revenue gains over 1999 results were realised by all of Loral's operating units with the exception of the satellite manufacturing segment, where the expected timing of revenues under contract remains skewed to the latter half of the year. As a result, Loral's segment revenues in the second quarter (Q2), prior to intercompany and affiliate eliminations were lower than 1999's second quarter results (US$454 million) at $440 million. However, revenues were sharply higher for Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) with data services segments and strong year-to-date bookings and backlog across the board.
