South Korea's three mobile network operators have reportedly submitted an application to set up a mobile base station on the Liancourt Rocks, with a view to providing Long Term Evolution (LTE) services on the disputed islets. SK Telecom, KT Corp and LG Uplus have set out plans to utilize a pylon and microwave equipment that has already been constructed in the area by KT, with all three agreeing to share the infrastructure in order to limit environmental impact.
