Vodafone New Zealand has announced that more rural areas of the country can now connect to wireless broadband technology following the activation of an additional 18 mobile cell sites over the past few weeks. The deployment is part of Vodafone's involvement in the Rural Connectivity Group (RCG) and takes the total number of sites built under the initiative to over 150. Sharina Nisha, Head of Platforms at Vodafone NZ, commented: 'Enhancing rural internet access is a large priority and it's great to pass the milestone of building 150 mobile cell sites as part of the Rural Connectivity Group. We are pleased to collaborate with our industry partners to benefit Aotearoa, as we understand how important connectivity is to ensure our rural communities continue to develop and grow.'
