Aside from the normal five senses of the human body, having an additional sense will definitely give a soldier an edge in the battlefield. Imagine, knowing when and where to strike first before the opponent makes his move. The ability to quickly move in or out of danger zone safely just like a superhero. The modern fighter aircraft has such ability. This ability comes in the form of phase array radar. Fighter-based airborne radars have been developing towards phased array radar technology ever since the first operational fighter-sized phased array radar, the Zaslon S-800 was introduced on the MiG-31 Foxhound in 1982. Phased array radar technology has come a long way in the past four decades, with the continuous development of tube passive array and solid state active arrays, which use discrete and MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) technologies.
