Cannabis, flood insurance and tsunamis of customer data—these are a few of the ongoing regulatory issues that kept bankers up at night in 2019. And it's not just the risk and compliance officers losing sleep. At its core, regulatory compliance is an operations issue, says ABA's Rick Freer. Compliance risk is part of the cost of doing business, he notes, and anyone involved in business strategy should be factoring compliance into the equation. So how should banks plan around the top regulatory and compliance risks of 2020?
