ABA has created a new credential-the ABA Certificate in Compliance Lending-to recognize bank employees' knowledge and skill in applying lending compliance regulations. Bankers can earn the certificate by completing 14 online courses for compliance professionals that offer a thorough grounding in lending regulations, including those pertaining to residential mortgages, open- and closed-end credit, fair lending, UDAAP, and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act. Those who complete all 14 courses-which are available on demand through a PC, laptop, iPad, or most tablets-also will earn up to 31 CRCM credits that may be used to obtain or maintain a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers.
