As more community banks look to securities brokerage as a way to meet their customers' financial needs and provide fee income to smooth out the cyclicality of lending, they naturally are concerned about competing with the large brokerage houses and large banks that dominate this business. The 2005 Kehrer-INVEST Community Bank Brokerage Study examines how community banks can be successful in this highly competitive business, and provides benchmarks for banks to assess their performance.
