This book is a monumental synthesis of Professor Ichimura's essays and articles dealing with types of economic development and institutional conditions for effective development in the Asian region. They were published in professional journals and books from the early 1980s to 2014. The reason the book is 'monumental' is because it is built on the author's life-long belief that an economy is subjugated by polity, and polity is sustainable only if a nation's economy, culture, and science and technology all support it well.
