With Asia's renewable energy capacity nearly doubling in the past five years to 918 GW in 2017, GE Power makes the case for its aeroderivative business as an effective solution to complement the regions renewables agenda. Drawn from aircraft engine technologies, the compact aeroderivative gas turbines can provide faster response times than their heavy industrial counterparts, making them suitable for smaller-scale energy generation. With the aeroderivative gas turbine industry poised to grow at an annual rate of nearly 5% from 2016-2020, GE has pledged to invest over $200m to enhance the service capabilities of its aero portfolio.
