Handheld digital TVs, being a relatively new technology, are yet to become a mainstream product for mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan makers. There are still very few of them who are engaged in the line. While manufacturers from the mainland and Hong Kong expect stable prices throughout 2008, Taiwan makers predict a price hike for the line given the rising cost of materials. All are export-oriented, with Europe as their common big market. Suppliers are approaching product development in slightly different ways. Mainland China makers focus more on enhancing product performance, some Hong Kong manufacturers concentrate on producing more marketable product sizes, while Taiwan suppliers develop their product line by introducing portable media player (PMP) and digital photo frame features into their units.
