One of China's major LCD TV production centers, Jiangsu province, mainly the southern area, accounts for 40 to 50 percent of the region's total LCD TV exports. It is the site of manufacturing operations of about 15 makers of LCD TVs, including major international players such as Philips and Sharp. The hub has also gained recognition as China's largest FPD industry center. It is host to four of the top five leading LCD panel suppliers-LG Display, Samsung, AUO and CPT-that set up factories for panels and modules (LCMs). Other suppliers such as Sharp, Hannstar and IVO also maintain production facilities in the province. Being one of China's earliest modern industry centers, Jiangsu also boasts mature supporting industries, including electronic components manufacturing, mold making, plastic injection molding and SMT services.
