Mainland China dominates global output of low-cost digital cameras as Taiwan and Hong Kong roll out higher-resolution models. Mainland China continues to be the world's largest hub for low-cost digital still cameras and accessories. In 2003, it exported 48.63 million sets of digital cameras worth $2.96 billion. This figure represents 86 percent of the estimated 57 million unit global production. In 2004, analysts expect exports to have hit 73 million units valued at $5.5 billion, with an estimated year-on-year increase of 190 percent.
