摘要

Andersen Worldwide's network of law films has quietly begun to unravel in Asia, while another of Andersen's audit partnerships said it was negotiating to merge with Ernst & Young Global. In the past three weeks, the managing partners of Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Malaysia's largest law firm, and Rajah & Tann, the second-largest law firm in Singapore, have indicated they plan to exit the network, said Chris Hinze, a London-based spokesman for Andersen Legal. Andersen Legal, a partnership of law firms in 36 countries, is an associated company of Andersen Worldwide. Andersen's accounting and legal entities operate as separate partnerships that don't share profit, but instead work together on a nonexclusive referral basis. Most countries bar lawyers from entering partnerships with fee-based firms, such as accountants or consultants.
