In many Asian countries, labor costs have been rising strongly in recent years. This shows that these economies have been growing strongly and with that economic growth, labor has become a limiting factor, according to International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF). While labor costs are certainly a very important cost factor in the textile and especially in the apparel industry, it is dangerous to neglect other important production factors, said ITMF. These factors are energy costs and energy reliability, infrastructure, political and social stability, raw material supply, production clusters, reliable quality, lead times, compliance, market expertise, understanding of the end-consumer, the capability to innovate and so on.
