Thailand is among the fastest-growing countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its growing influence to ASEAN is notably seen. According to statistics of Thai Industry Ministry, in 2010, Thailand's total textile and clothing exports recorded US$4,914.7 million from January to August compared with US$4,197 million in the same period in 2009, representing an increase of 17.1%. Overall, the country's textile and garment industry still enjoyed stable growth in 2010 with an annual growth of over 20% at about US$7 billion.
