You can read my thoughts on what has happened over the last decade in a feature opinion piece on page 14 but I would like to use my regular editorial comment to thank the industry tor its support over the last three and a half decades. In that time we have documented the changes undertaken in manufacturing first in the textile industry and since the early '90s also the clothing industry. Originally started by my parents Rosemary and Stan Boston with the support of the dyestuff manufacturers, Australasian Textiles (as it was originally known) was born out of the need for a quality industry journal for the dyeing and finishing industry, but quickly expanded to cover all facets of textile manufacturing. The magazine worked closely with the Society of Dyers and Colourists, The Textile Institute and the Council of Textile and Fashion Industries (TFIA) (and its predecessors) to improve knowledge, profile technological advances, and to highlight innovation and industry leaders.
