Freeman enjoys the collaborative process and has worked with an architect, a jewellery designer and a film maker to create new works. He has recently been enlisted by the Australian Ballet to produce costumes for a new commissioned work to be choreographed by Gideon Obarzanek, who is best known for his work with Chunky Move. This piece is part of the 'Infinity' program, being staged in the Australian Ballet's 50th anniversary year, which will also include new work by Australian icon Graeme Murphy and Stephen Page, artistic director of Bangarra Dance Theatre.Freeman describes this opportunity as 'awesome'. "In Australia, there's no bigger stage," he says. "I'd like to do more because the experience is great." He stresses the appeal of working with Obarzanek. "Gideon's work with Chunky Move has been incredible," he says. "He pushes the boundaries of contemporary theatre."
