Designer Alexi Freeman is committed to having his garments made in Australia after creating the first collection for his self-named ready-to-wear collection five years ago. "Before that, I'd made capsule collections that were about being an artist and having pieces in galleries," he says. "My designing is quite an intuitive process, I don't subscribe to trend forecasting and I've not travelled much in the last five years. It's just me interpreting what I feel is relevant. I don't do this to be self-indulgent, I try to make clothing that is relevant to modern culture, that is contemporary."
