The Dramatic Advances made in recent times to the production of woollen garments are creating new opportunities to develop and grow niche markets. Silver Fleece owner Cathy Barton is convinced there is a movement back to wool as people understand the newer versions have shed their earlier image of being scratchy to wear. She suggests they are now 'fabulous worn next to the skin'."It's been about reducing the weight of the garment," Barton says. "With places air conditioned now, there is no need for the heavier weight pieces which were not so comfortable to wear, The new wool looks beautiful and is great for the corporate market."
