Entrepreneur Dennis Mackender decided to put on hold plans he had to develop land when the impact of the GFC turned property development into a less attractive proposition. Mackender, who was also involved in auctions, chose to seek out new opportunities in the TCF sector when the economic climate shifted. "I needed cash flow so I looked around for a good solid business," he says. "Nova Sportswear had been around since 1986 and it didn't rely on retail sales. Its customers were schools, swim clubs and surf clubs, and they order all the time."
