At age 11 she was helping in the backroom, at 14 she was working during school holidays in mother Prue Acton's block arcade boutique and by 16 was making her own clothes. It seemed that Treloar was destined to follow in her parent's footsteps, but originally she wanted to break free from the mould. After finishing high school, Treloar moved to London to complete a cooking course. Within months she had returned and was once again working with her mother. This time she was learning the business of fashion in the design room and buying fabrics.
