The task of a unit chaplain is not for everybody, just as leading people is not for everybody. Chaplains of any religious background who apply the three universal expectations of being leaders, innovative and tough will find that they enjoy their experience serving with a unit, and that they make a difference to the lives of people. Making a difference is a key role for a good chaplain, and the 21st century ADF needs chaplains who are leaders first. Such leadership will continue to support ADF warfighting capabilities throughout this 'Long War'.
