Being a former forensic detective who was attached to the old Sydney CIB from the 1960s to the 1990s, I had investigated a myriad of cases in New South Wales (NSW), from simple petty larceny right through to the worst kinds of crime imaginable. After 30-odd years of performing this type of work, one of the most memorable case histories that springs to mind is this story about a bank robber whom I had linked to a string of similar offences (through partial fingerprint evidence) during the late 1970s. And, almost every time I thought about this man, I remembered the movie, Bad Boys, and the "slang' words used in their theme song: "Bad boy! Bad boy! Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?" Now, after 41 years, I can happily report that The Long Arm of the Law' has reached out for him and he was finally arrested on 20 December 2018 by detectives from the State Crime Command, Robbery and Serious Crime Squad.
