Printers in the Bi sector have a dizzying choice of press technology to employ. But in KBA's reckoning not all of them have the resources or desire to invest in the full array of top specification technology and ultra-high running speeds, hence the launch of the new Rapida 105, which the company says has 90 per cent of the functionality of the 106, but comes in at only 75 per cent of the investment required. Dave Lewis, sheetfed director at KBA Australasia, says, "KBA has listened to printers in these more difficult times and has built a press that will produce the same top quality of print as the 106, and with minimal makeready times, but doesn't necessarily have all the bells and whistles, and doesn't run quite so fast."
