Finishing specialist Kama has released an entry level die cutter, the new ProCut 74 SE, that it says will perform die cutting, creasing and perforating operations as well as blind embossing to highest quality standards. Marcus Tralau, chief executive of Kama, says, "Many print shops are keen to modernise their processing services and are looking for a solution which offers a rapid pay-back. Not everybody wishes to take their first steps in the print finishing market with a high-end machine." Kama expects the ProCut 74 SE to replace long-serving platen press and cylinders. It says the flat-bed die cutter can process up to 4500 sheets per hour, claiming that it out-performs the outgoing cylinder cutters by a factor of two to three with quick changeovers from one job to the next.
