As print moves into the digital era management information systems (MIS) are assuming a far greater role within the print shop, whether, small medium or large, in fact they are becoming the best friend a printer can have, thanks to their abailty to connect and manage, both internally and externally. They have always been more than useful as time saving solutions for estimating, for production control, for accounting, and latterly have been providing a major boost or printers in their ability to automatically analyse and report, especially when this function is automated through bi-directional MIS to machine interface.
