摘要

The use of a single tracer gas in the measurement of infiltration or exfiltra-tion flow rate is a well-established technique in building applications, mainly as a single-zone model. In the passive tracer gas (PTG) technique, where one or more tracer gas compounds are employed, the inter-zonal flows between different zones within a building may be measured. The PTG technique uses rare tracer gases with very low concentrations in the atmosphere; and it employs the diffusion principle for emission and sampling, therefore no active power is used during measurement. The PTG technique offers the possibility of quantifying airflows as a time-averaged value, and is useful in the evaluation of ventilation air quantity and ventilation efficiency, and in the investigation of air quality and thermal stratification.
