摘要

Indoor air quality (IAQ) in residential, commercial and industrial buildings is a primary consideration for the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) engineer, building owner and facility manager. A central issue in good IAQ management practice is the control of diseases such as tuberculosis that can be transmitted via the airborne route. Tuberculosis is a disease which can be acquired after inhalation of a sufficient number of tubercle bacilli if present in indoor air. This paper discusses the changing epidemiolgy of tuberculosis in the US, the occurrence of multi-drug resistant strains, and the populations most at risk.
