Lexus is well known for its large premium hybrid vehicles but is now developing a compact car. The chief engineer of the CT 200h explains the challenges of taking the brand's DNA into the C-segment.rnThis is Lexus's first offering in the compact class: what were the main challenges for you?rn"Because it's a compact car, there is less space inside, but we didn't want our customers to feel boxed in. We put a lot of effort into the packaging so they feel relaxed and comfortable. The other element was safety - it's easier to make vehicles safer when they're bigger. That was one of the main challenges we had.
