Hammered by global economic problems and fuel prices, the MRO industry is becoming more challenging by the day. Competition is intensifying, cost pressures rising, regulation expanding, and barriers to entry in engine and component work are becoming steeper with the advent of new-generation aircraft. Only the strongest players—by financial heft, scale, niche excellence or cost advantage can expect to remain competitive in the long term.
