After a building phase of only eight months, MTU Maintenance Hannover's new logistics center was ceremonially opened Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The storage building for spare parts has a floor space of 7,500 square meters (80,729 square feet) and features the advanced logistic processes. With the new building, the transportation route could be reduced from 15 km to only 75 meters (9.32 miles to .046 miles). With this move, MTU Maintenance will significantly save costs, optimize its internal processes.
