Ask Aviation Employee Placement Service (A.E.P.S.) president Jim Dent about the first AirFair his company hosted and he will say things didn't start out quite as he had hoped. "We literally had to give the 21 booth spaces away at our first AirFair," he explained. "The space was already paid for, and I knew all I had to do was show the companies how effective the concept was, and they would come back for more." Over that weekend in November 1999, the representatives from the aviation manufacturers, service providers, and airlines who took advantage of Dent's generosity found what they were looking for: a steady stream of qualified pilots, maintenance, and service person-; nel.
