Bruntingthorpe-based GJD Services has purchased Phantom FG.1 XV582 Black Mike and will relocate the aircraft to the Leicestershire airfield. The British F4 Phantom Aviation Group (BF4PAG) had campaigned to save Black Mike, which is currently at Leuchars, Fife. Gary Spoors of GJD Services has stepped in to acquire the airframe and cover the cost of its relocation to Bruntingthorpe on behalf of the BF4PAG and an arrangement has been finalised that will see the group reimburse him over time. This has ensured the safety of the aircraft and given the BF4PAG more time to raise the required funds.
