Bell Helicopter is hoping its Model 505 JetRanger X, with a price tag of just over $1 million, can help it regain dominance of the light helicopter market sector it cre-ated, but ultimately let others dictate. The company sold more than 6,000 of the original Model 206 JetRangers but failed to invest in the aircraft be-yond the 1980s, leaving its competitors to bring innovation and new technol-ogy to the market.
