Low oil prices have been blamed for delaying some Middle East military deals, but the market remains crucial to Western suppliers. In the past year alone, Egypt and Qatar became the Dassault Rafale's first export customers by ordering 24 aircraft each, with a reported 12 more on option for Qatar.
