A vic Engine was supposed to integrate China's aviation propulsion sector. Part of the 2008 reorganization of the country's aeronautics industry, it brought together the Avic units that designed, developed and manufactured aircraft engines. One of the intended benefits was to minimize duplication in facilities and projects.
