A massive narrowbody order by AirAsia shows its recent struggles have not dented the carrier's confidence in its long-term prospects, and also signals it is ready to move on after a fleet growth hiatus. The Malaysia-based low-cost carrier (LCC) signed a deal with Airbus at the Farnborough Airshow for 100 A321neos, to be delivered from 2019. This boosted its already extensive narrowbody backlog, which includes orders for about 300 A320neos.
