Thailand's airline market has presented a frustrating combination of potential and setbacks in recent years. But many local carriers are finally regaining momentum, as they look to convert surging demand into financial improvement. While very few are profitable yet, Thai-based airlines are generally strengthening their fiscal results. This is leading to renewed optimism about fleet and network growth, both for major carrier Thai Airways and smaller players such as Thai Air Asia and Nok Air. There are other competitors, but these three represent a good cross section of the local industry.
