The A350's three-axis digital flight control system has the architecture developed by Airbus for the A380, but with fewer control surfaces and redundancies. Primary control surfaces are dual elevators and ailerons, five of seven spoilers on each wing, and a single rudder. Secondary flight controls comprise 12 slats and two drooped nose devices (DNDs) on the wing leading edges, all 14 spoiler panels, four dropped-hinge flap panels and ailerons that droop to increase lift as a function of flap position.
