Capt. Kimball Stone has been appointed vice president-flight of American Airlines. He succeeds Capt. John-Hale, who plans to return to flying. Stone was vice president-Integrated Operations Control and has been followed by Lome Cass, who was the FAA's director of airport surface efficiency. Pierre Jorant (see photos) has been named vice president-programs, Gilles Poilvet vice president-administration and finance, Francis Gauvain vice president of human resources and facilities, and Philippe James vice president-continuous improvement, all for Safran subsidiary Aircelle, Le Havre, France. Jorant was general manager of the CFM-Air China joint-venture Sichuan Services Aero-Engine Maintenance Co. Poilvet has been Aircelle's vice president-programs. Gauvain was deputy for the Human Resources Department of Safran's Snecma subsidiary. And James has been Snecma's project manager for the Vinci rocket engine development and head of the Combustion Devices Design Department.
