FAA Administrator Michael Huerta is crystal clear about whether the deadline to equip aircraft for a key type of Next-Gen, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out, might be extended. "The answer is no," Huerta said during a Wichita Aero Club luncheon. "The date is set." Operators have until Jan. 1,2020, to equip their aircraft to fly in controlled airspace as the FAA puts its NextGen ATM system in place.
