The U.K. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is making radical changes to the rules governing the use of helicopters to support the offshore oil and gas industry. While any moves to improve safety are welcome, the changes-some of which are to be introduced as early as this June-will undoubtedly impact the North Sea's largest helicopter operators and disrupt the regular function of the region's oil and gas platforms.
