The U.S. Air Force is finally getting off the dime on a systematic hosted-payloads approach to save the taxpayers a little money. But NASA will be the first to benefit from the plan, as the military service adjusts to the idea that not every payload in space needs its own spacecraft bus to carry out its mission, and particularly not when budgets are shrinking.
