For more than half a century, it was widely accepted that the only true replacement for the DC-3 was another DC-3. The same can largely be said for the multirole de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, demand for which eventually led to the resumption of production in 2007 by British Columbia-based Viking Air.
