More than two years after Delta Air Lines became the first U.S. carrier to announce it would substantially reduce its 50-seat regional jet flying, its transformation is nearly complete. Although Delta Connection soon will operate a fraction of the Embraer ERJ 145 and Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft it once flew, Delta does not expect any cities to lose service. "We are not hitting the point where we are pulling any dots off the map," Don Bornhorst, senior vice president for Delta Connection, tells Aviation Week. "But some of that depends on whether our operators can continue to acquire pilot resources."
