Export sales will become increasing important as manufacturers try to sustain production levels built up over recent years. For the U.S., that means securing foreign military sales for Bell, Boeing and Sikorsky helicopters while European manufacturers market armed scout and support rotorcraft to the U.S. Boeing's AH-64D Apache attack helicopter, Sikorsky's UH-60M utility and MH-60R/S naval helicopters as well as Bell's modernized AH-1Z/UH-1Y and even Bell Boeing's V-22 tilt-rotor are all seeking foreign buyers, though they are facing stiff competition from both European and Russian industries.
