Long.Boeing's first 702MP (medium power) satellite lifted off March 25 on an International Launch Services (ILS) Proton M/Breeze M launch vehicle flying from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan (photo). Mounted at one end of the spacecraft is a hosted UHF payload with 25 khz channels (AW&ST March 12, p. 46). The satellite also carries 48 C-band and 24 K_u-band transponders for Intelsat commercial service.
